Lenys Crew -12 vs Blue & Green - 44
After a strong performance from last week against Navy City Metals, Lenys Crew struggled to get the offense going and failed to many stops on D. Bryan Pomper did connect with Conley White for the second week in a row for a long TD pass, but was held relatively quiet the rest of the afternoon.
Blue & Greens defense looked very strong, playing better as the game continued. They had a couple key sacks late in the game that put Lenys way behind the chains. But it was the Blue and Green Offense that looked really impressive, specifically the play of Ellison Tran at QB. Riding the hot hand and a wide open offense, Ellison caused problems for Lenys all afternoon. He was able to get outside the pocket and do damage throwing on the run. He connected with 4 different WR’s for 5 passing TD’s on the day and added to his TD total with a defensive pick 6. Blue & Green looks to have a lot of great momentum going into the playoffs and could sneak into the number one seed with a Navy City loss this next week.

Timeout - 24 vs Good Times - 15
Erik Simonson, the QB from Timeout, was able to connect for 4 TD’s, two to Jay Grinsell, one to Chris Faucette and another to Zak Huricks, but was unable to connect on any of their conversions. The game started in favor of Timeout, striking first with a long pass to Jay Grinsell. Timeout was able to force a few early turnovers and sustained some long drives to keep Good Times offense off the field and built a lead that they never relinquished.
Good Times didn’t waiver though, and stuck to their game plan running the ball very well behind the O-Line of Adrian, Rick, and Sal. RB, Clyde Anthony, was able to take zone play up the middle, dodging a few flag pulls with some sweet hip moves, getting a TD on the board for Good Times. They continued to grind the ball, with QB, Jalanie Jones on some nice QB bootlegs and roll-outs, eventually punching in another rushing TD. But it was too little too late as Timeout was able to control the clock the rest of the way and put the game away on their last drive.
Blackfish 20 - vs Timeout - 24
This game was a bit of a back and forth, Timeout got on the board first with a long drive culminated with a short dump route to Reth Bon. Blackfish was able to score on a deep pass down the middle from Paul Won to Keilen Taylor. Game looked to be tied going into the half but with less than 30 seconds to go 70 yards, Timeout completed a long pass down the sideline to Jay Grinsell, who was able to dodge a few defenders and fell into the endzone to end the half.
Timeout started with the ball in the second half and again was able to kill a lot of clock driving the length of the field for a rushing TD by Erik. Not to be outdone, Blackfish QB, Paul Won, had an epic run on the next drive, avoiding about 7 flag pulls on his way to a 50+ yard rushing TD. The conversion was good and Timeout was clinging to a 5 pt lead. Timeout again had a long drive, capped with a short TD pass to Chris Faucette expanding their lead to 11 points. Blackfish didn’t give up though, scoring on their next drive with a pass to Brian Christian up the sideline. The conversion was again good and Blackfish was only down by 4. With a little under 2 minutes to go, Timeout was able to grind out a final drive and got the much needed 1st down under 5 plays to seal the victory.
Blackfish - 9 vs Blue & Green 28
On the second game of their double header, Blackfish looked to be running out of steam. After keeping the game close with Timeout, Blackfish struggled to get their offense going. Blue & Green on the other hand, was firing on all cylinders. Their new QB, Ellison Tran, continued to impress, breaking contain in the pocket and scrambling to make play after play. The first score for B&G was a QB scramble that Ellison was able to sneak into the endzone. Ellison connected for a TD pass to Bernard later in the half but the conversion was picked off by Brian Christian from Blackfish and taken back to the house for 2pts. B&G still had control of the game, as their D-Line continued to limit the time Blackfish had in the backfield, but Blackfish didn’t quit. They were able to find some momentum by transitioning to a more wide open spread offense, allowing Paul Won to scramble for a rushing TD. It looked like Blackfish might make some noise late in the game, but Ellison hit Kelton Hall on a deep pass down the middle to close the lid on Blackfish.
Ellison Tran - Blue & Green : Ellison threw for 7 TD’s, rushed for 2, and came up with a pick 6; so 10 TD’s total over two games. Along with a few key 2pt conversions, his two game sum is pretty impressive. It is also the 2nd week in a row he has had an impressive game, if he stays hot like this, going in the playoffs, B&G will be tough to deal with.
Erick Simonson - Timeout : Erik also threw for 7 TD’s over the two game day, and rushed for another one himself. He had numerous diving flag pulls with couple amazing ones that prevented plays from being much bigger than they might have been. Most importantly though, he was able to avoid costly turnovers and in both games managed long sustained drives to put the games away.
