Traveling to a tournament is among the most rewarding experiences you can have as a football enthusiast and amateur athlete who lives most of life outside of sports. NWFF was formed to facilitate that experience. To make sure flag football enthusiast knew what was going on regionally and give some motivation to those that really wanted another level of competition above what they were experiencing locally. Take a look at our dream matchups for 2016!
The free wheeling Chiefs boast a high octane offense that thrives on the deep ball. Bad Intentions is disciplined with precise timing routes. Both have stellar defenses with aggressive and effective D rush. Can the Chiefs find enough big plays or does Bad Intentions keep disciplined control of the ball?
(7) Vancouver Villains vs (9) Spokane Not Fast or Furious
Young, brash and athletic vs Experienced, systematic and precise. Two great QB’s in a shootout! Two teams that have drastically different flag experiences from their regions. Hopefully Spokane and/or Vancouver can play host to a tournament for these teams to facilitate this great matchup.
(11) Vancouver King Cobras vs (15) Portland Cobra Kai
The Cobra Cup, for no other reason than to see which team represents the Cobra best. Cobra Kai is the 5 time champion of Portland Football 8v8 league. The King Cobras are the current defending league champions of the Vancouver Top Flight Flag Football League.
(12) Spokane WMD’s vs (14) Bellingham Expendables
Upstart team with great athletes and a great team chemistry vs an identical team that has similar chemistry and a little more experience on their side. Does experience and team bonding make the difference for the WMD’s? Both in-state with at least 3-4 tournament opportunities to bring these two competitors to see one another.
(18) Vancouver Crimson Tide vs (19) Seattle Timeout
Two pocket passing QB’s with lots of weapons around them! Two well established teams that have made significant runs in leagues and tournaments in the past. Which QB finds more ways to win!
(25) Bellingham King in the North vs (31) Seattle Last Minute
King in the North has some tournament experience and battled to a league championship this past fall. They have the size and team depth but might be lacking in defensive fire power. Last Minute has a well balanced team, with an excellent QB who does a great job taking what the defense will give him. What will win, will KiN hold on defense, or will Last Minute’s offense find the holes to exploit?
(23) Grants Pass Legit vs (34) Yakima Grid Iron Gang
Grants pass Legit is a perennial finalist in many Oregon’s tournament in their competitive division, and have a lot of field experience together. The Grid Iron Gang is a young new team that jumped head first into the fray in 8v8 Elite divisions in Washington but have yet to put together a series of wins or matchups that can convince us to move them higher. This would be a great test for that.
