Dynastys been to this dance a few different times under some different team banners, formerly Self Made Kingz and again as Still Matic Rebels. With many years of lessons learned, Dynasty was clearly the more veteran and experienced team in the championship game.
The finals read like a script of two Oregon giants. The Eugene Dirty Birds (aka Buzzards), an 11-man Tackle team, is making noise across the NW flag football scene. Dynasty, ranked #1 in the NW, has been playing together, albeit under a few different names for many years.
The game appeared on paper to be pretty evenly matched, but Dynasty, using a balanced attack of run and pass, was able to keep ball control and keep the high octane Dirty Birds offense off the field. Dynasty struck first, putting the pressure on the Dirty Birds offense to respond.
The Dirty Birds tried to score quickly, and made some hasty decisions, which led to a Dynasty INT by Ray Robinson, which was taken back to the house, 98yrds, for a TD. Dynasty was able to get the ball back again, and scored on a 50 yard toss to Icy Myke Mooring. And just like that, Dynasty had a 3 TD lead.
Feeling the pressure to score and narrow the gap, the Dirty Birds threw another INT, giving Dynasty great field position, which lead to another score, this time to Joey Parillo. Dynasty had a 28-0 lead at this point, and spent the rest of the game in ball control mode, holding the Dirty Birds to 6 pts on a late game TD.
Finals score was 28-6 Dynasty.
Congrats to a hard fought game Dirty Birds and finally to Dynasty who end the year out on a bang, capturing a large regional tournament title that had alluded this team for a few years.
