Preseason Power Rankings

Seattle METRO League Kickoff
With the 2015 champs, “Seattle Timeout”, not returning to defend their crown, the league is wide open for all the teams. Here are the 2016 Pre-Season Power Rankings. Well not entirely pre-season, with so many new teams we needed to see week 1 to get an idea of where teams stood. Just a reminder, the winner of the Seattle METRO League gets free registration for the City of Spokane’s Spring Mayhem Tournament June 11th and 12th.
#1 Good Times
This might be Good Times’ season. They have been a top 4 team in many leagues over the last few years, struggling to really put away games but constantly in the hunt as the season winds down. They have the league's best O line, and the skill guys to keep the offense moving. Their season will really depend on how well their defense can play and if they can get consistent pressure on the QB’s. If they can keep QB’s on their heels they have a great shot bringing home the trophy!
#2 The ‘Shed Crew
An iteration of players that have played for MANY years, various groups of the players have won league championships in the past. The team looks to be ready for a championship run with a deep O-Line. They seem pretty thin in the secondary and it could end up being a liability down the stretch. Their offense will need to play consistent and the team can’t make many mistakes if they want to bring the championship back to The Watershed in Northgate.
#3 Blackfish
Blackfish picked up some players from Last Minute, another strong Seattle team. They have many of the pieces necessary to succeed in the league, but their success will come down to how consistent they can play. The athletes across the board are top notch for this team. The are lacking some depth on the O and D line but assuming the can fill those roster spots they will really compete for the league title.
#4 Lockett Down
The team will be coming up from Auburn each week, where they had been hoping to play with the City of Auburn league. Their defense seemed to be their strength as their offensive playmakers worked on finding rhythm. This team was ready to play 6v6, but by adding 2 extra players into the mix may be an easy adjustment. Their offense knows how to get the ball out quickly and they have the athletes in the secondary to stay with most teams. If they can figure out how to deal with a run game, both offensively and defensively they will compete for a chance at the Championship.
#5 West Side
The team hails from West Seattle with some great athletes that can make plays downfield. Their O and D line are strong, but they only have a limited D-rush, choosing instead to drop into coverage and make you beat them downfield. The team is new so time will tell if the continuity and strategies pay off. They have the athletes and players to compete for the top spot but still have some building to do.
#6 Squirrels and Onions
A very new team, mostly out of the Ballard area. They have enough men on the roster to compete but will need to figure out a good offensive strategy to take advantage of overly aggressive defensive lineman. If their QB can consistently roll the pocket and throw on the run they will put teams in a tough position to defend. They have athletes in the defensive secondary and an aggressive enough rush to keep offenses in check. They will need to figure out how to keep some sustained drives going and put points on the board if they want to compete for the top 4 spots.
#7 Dem Boyz
A New team, due to a last minute drop out by the 8th team, they did not play this week. We know very little about them but hopefully they surprise us and show up with force in week 2.
